Effective cold remedy

Excellent cold remedy! It's an absolute analogue of ACC, and while we have just 10 effervescent tablets, this product provides 60 capsules—a significant difference. Acetylcysteine serves as a mucolytic, expectorant, and antioxidant, effective for respiratory diseases involving viscous sputum. When I feel aches or start to get unwell, I take an ACC capsule at night. Be healthy!

Before taking this daily, I often developed chest infections after a simple cold. Now, I either don’t get them or if I do, they’re mild. N-acetyl cysteine has been a long-term treatment for similar issues in respiratory patients, and I suspect it aids me when I have a cold. I take 3000mg daily.

I trust Life Extension completely; I've purchased their products several times and have always found top quality. Their NAC supplements are detox regulators that enhance glutathione production, improving resistance. I take one capsule each morning before breakfast. It significantly alleviates my cold symptoms while being well-tolerated.

Precursor of glutathione - the primary antioxidant in the body. Family cold relief
5 people found this helpful
This excellent medication was recommended to me by nutritionists. It helped us avoid the cold, flu, or covid. We took 2 capsules on an empty stomach, combined with NAC; everyone’s lungs are clear, and there are no lasting effects from the illness. The entire family suffered, so I believe it truly helped. The strong cough has passed, and we also took large doses of Vitamin D, K, Zinc, and Vitamin C, as well as a probiotic and syrup.
The common cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, primarily affecting the nose and throat. It's caused by a variety of viruses, with rhinoviruses being the most prevalent. Symptoms generally include a runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, sneezing, mild headache, and sometimes a low-grade fever. While the common cold is often mild and resolves on its own within a week or two, it can still be bothersome and impact daily activities.
Transmission occurs through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or by touching surfaces contaminated with the virus. Preventative measures include frequent handwashing, using hand sanitizer, and avoiding close contact with infected individuals. Since there is currently no cure for the common cold, treatment focuses on symptom relief through over-the-counter medications, adequate rest, and hydration. While colds may be uncomfortable, they are generally not serious; however, seeking medical attention may be necessary if symptoms worsen or persist for an extended period.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a modified form of the amino acid cysteine, known for its role as a powerful antioxidant and mucolytic agent. It has been widely used as a dietary supplement for various health benefits, including supporting respiratory health, detoxification, and enhancing overall immune function. NAC is particularly recognized for its ability to replenish glutathione, one of the body's most important antioxidants, which helps combat oxidative stress and protect cells from damage.
In addition to its antioxidant properties, N-Acetyl Cysteine is commonly leveraged in a clinical setting for its effectiveness in treating acetaminophen (Tylenol) overdoses, as it aids in restoring depleted glutathione levels, thus preventing liver damage. It can also be beneficial for individuals with chronic respiratory conditions, such as COPD or cystic fibrosis, as it helps in thinning mucus, making it easier to expel. While NAC is generally considered safe for most people, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, particularly for those with pre-existing conditions or those already on medication.

Effective cold treatment

This is an excellent supplement; NAC helps boost glutathione levels, an essential antioxidant. I use it prophylactically during acute respiratory viral infections and colds, and for treatment, particularly for pulmonary conditions. It effectively dilutes phlegm and alleviates cough. This product is a superior alternative to pharmacy ACC, with a very good dosage per capsule. It can be used in short courses at the first signs of illness or taken daily for general immune support for a month.

The most noticeable effect of taking NAC is its ability to clear mucus, especially during allergies, and it also seems effective against cold and flu symptoms. There are additional benefits like improved mood and energy, but the mucus clearing is paramount.

Prevents bronchitis

I was initially skeptical about this brand due to its price but had no complaints. I have early-stage emphysema and COPD; when I catch a cold, it usually escalates into bronchitis, driving me to the doctor. I use this at the first sign of a cold and often manage to avoid bronchitis and medical visits. Following one cold since I purchased this, it performed as expected. This will be my preferred brand for N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) as the price is reasonable, and it works. Highly recommended!
